At the end of August 2026 we counted ourselves: of the 149 projects, 106 had been updated within the month and 16 had not been touched for over a year, and those are marked red rather than dropped from the list.

What it is
A catalogue of self-hosted alternatives to the usual services: Immich instead of Google Photos, Syncthing instead of Dropbox, Jellyfin instead of Netflix, Outline instead of Notion, Bitwarden instead of a paid password manager. The categories run from VPN and mail server to smart home, git server and a personal finance tracker.
What separates it from dozens of similar lists is that this one does not go stale. A bot checks every day whether the projects are alive and gives each row a colour mark, so deciding what to take takes a second. Abandoned projects are not quietly dropped but honestly marked red, and strict submission criteria keep filler out.
