Aura Autopilot
An agent that plays your game for you and hunts for bugs: it explores levels, checks a mechanic from a single sentence and writes a report. It installs as a plugin in Unreal, Unity and Godot and learns from every run. Open source, Apache-2.0.

We have not run it ourselves: described from the docs and the repository.

What it is
When you build a game together with an AI agent, checking the result is still on you: launch it, play through the level, see whether anything broke. Aura Autopilot takes that part off your hands. You install it as a plugin right inside the editor, describe the task in plain words, say "check that the tree shakes when hit with an axe", and it launches the game, reads the project code, plays in real time and hands you a report at the end.
What sets it apart from a regular agent like Claude Code is that it does not steer the game itself at every step. An LLM agent writes a harness for the game, and a separate decision model picks the actions during play, so the character has time to dodge and aim. Memory about the project builds up from run to run, and over time it gets through the same tasks faster and smarter. You can also connect it to Claude Code or Codex, and then it runs on your own subscription.
How it works
- 01Plugins/A prebuilt release goes into your project: into
Plugins/for Unreal 5.4–5.8, as a package from an archive for Unity 6, intoaddons/for Godot 4.7 and newer. Runs on Windows and macOS. - 024 типа задачExploration ("learn the crafting system"), testing ("find everything that looks wrong"), verification of a specific mechanic, and a goal ("kill the boss while keeping health above 20%").
- 03harness + decision modelAn LLM agent writes a harness for your game, and a decision model picks the actions during play. When the run ends, the game window closes and a report comes back.
- 04autopilot connect claudeThrough skills and an MCP server, Autopilot connects to Claude Code or Codex and runs on your subscription. Inside the plugin you can use an Aura plan or your own API keys.
Know before installing
- The benchmark was run by the authors themselves: seven tasks in a single game on Unreal Engine 5.8.
- The first runs can be clumsy until Autopilot builds up memory about the project.
- Building from source is only available for Unreal; the other engines get a prebuilt package.
